Here we go again..
well, i've decided that i will try (again) to start up a blog to keep everyone up to date with what is happening with lachlan's growth and development, and also so i can post up some pictures of lachlan for you all to see.. i feel a little embarrassed that everyone else i know has started up blogs and been much more successful at keeping them updated than i was (my last attempt consisted of one post, that was cut short because lachlan woke up and i never got back to it). hopefully things will work out a little better for me this time round.. however, i wouldn't expect to be updating this more than once a week or so..
well, let's see.. what interesting things can i tell you about what's been happening.. hmmmm.. now i remember the other reason i didn't really get into updating my blog last time.. i don't think there has been that much interesting stuff happening? i guess i find it hard to think that my life can be all that enthralling that others would want to read all about it??? maybe i will just stick to the basics and see where that takes us...
as many of you will know, lachlan and i visited griffith on thursday for brett's farewell party, and did the rounds of the willett centre lvl 0 afterwards to say hello to everyone.. sorry if we missed seeing you, but it seems that doing the rounds with a baby in tow can actually take up the whole afternoon if you let it, and i wanted to get forementioned baby home for a feed and nap so had to cut the visit short.. lachlan was spectacularly well behaved for the visit - probably because he wanted everyone to think i was lying when they asked me if he was a good baby and i said no. to tell you the truth, he is a wonderful baby, but he is very high maintenance.
he loves being held and cuddled and spends most of the day letting me know that he would prefer that than being on the floor playing.. he is also going through a stranger danger phase where he has decided that as a general rule, he will not let anyone hold him except his parents, and occasionally his grandparents, although he makes some exceptions (just to prove me wrong, i'm sure).
he turned 7 months old on saturday - it's amazing how quickly the time has passed.. something to do with all the lack of sleep i'm sure. i weighed him at my mum's local chemist the day before and discovered that according to their scales, he is now a whopping 8.8 kgs. he is getting much better at sitting on his own, and doesn't unbalance as often as he used to.. he has also worked out how to roll from his tummy to his back.. he was never really fond of tummy time, so his new trick has been good in that he no longer screams when you roll him onto his tummy, because he knows he can roll back whenever he feels like it, but bad because he seems to feel like it almost straight away, and is therefore not spending any time on his tummy, which he needs to do if he is going to learn to crawl at some point. i have a vague suspicion that he is happy enough to just lay there for now and make me do all the hard work when he wants to more around..
anyway, that's enough for now.. i'll post up some photos when i get the chance, but for those who haven't seen the other ones i've uploaded to kodak gallery, you can check them out here - http://www.kodakgallery.com/i.jsp?c=e86jo0x.9tgtfz1&x=0&y=-bakplj

Hey cool, I'm happy to know that me and Scott O have inspired you to start your bloggin again! hehe and hey, I am the first person to comment on your blog! I feel honoured :-P
Thanks for the link on your site, we'll do the same.
Hey, I'm sure the stuff you talk about interests me, you know how I am with babies! I went to an orphanage in Manila, Philippines for a day, oh yeah, you would have seen the photo on my blog. Well, sooner or later I will achieve my goal, I think you know what it is :) Slowly working towards it.
Great photos of Lachlan, I love the one where he is upside down with his legs pointed up, haha, and the one in the bath where he looks like he is loving all the attention he is getting.
Ok, gotta go. Blog ya later.
