Surprises in the Garden
i went into the laundry the other day to put some washing on and almost had a heart attack when i glanced out the door and saw a reptilian tail in the garden.. however, the tail moved and i soon realised that it was a lizard rather than a snake which made me feel a whole lot better.. i managed to snap a few quick shots as he disappeared again.. "bluey" came out again on the weekend to sunbake and john managed to get some some more photos of him..

The Family Resemblance..
with the arrival of madeline and a new round of baby photos to look at, i thought i would look back at the pics of lachlan at the same age, and was amazed by how similar the two of them look.. maybe it's just that all babies look the same when they are only a couple of days old, but i think there is definately a family resemblance between these two!

Filling the Void..
visitors to our house may be wondering what if anything we did to that space in the middle.. well, we finally got around to doing something to it, so i thought i should put up some pics for you all to see.. we're going to get a few more plants and maybe a little statue or some oil lantern burner thingies, but so far, this is all we've managed..

Introducing Lachlan's new cousin, Madeline Hazel Lancaster..

Bon Voyage and Welcome..
it's been a busy week for lachlan this week.. he's been getting lots of practice with the crawling thing, and is getting very good at it.. would still prefer to be toddling around with some assistance, but at least doesn't cry as soon as you walk away from him now that he knows that he can follow you (slowly).
in other news, nanna is sailing the high seas this week on a crusie so we hope she's having a great time..
and finally, aunty leah and uncle david have given lachlan a new cousin - madeline hazel, born sunday 10th september at 5:35pm.. we dropped in for a brief visit and cuddle that night so we could congratulate the new parents but forgot the camera so i'll have to take and post some photos up another time.. besides, i'm sure leah would appreciate me waiting until she's not feeling quite so tired before i start snapping away.. mind you, from experience, that not so tired feeling will be months and months away..

New Tricks
lachlan turned 10 months old on sunday.. he's spent the week practicing his crawling and is getting much better at it now.. he seems to be enjoying the freedom that he's gained by being able to move on his own and is happy to crawl around to get his toys.. he still has problems on the tiles and tends to slide on the spot with his legs, but he's starting to work out how to use his toes for traction.. i think that by the end of the month, i'll be wishing he was immobile again and i didn't have to spend my days chasing around him or having him chase me!
